This is a precision-machined spiral bevel gear (also called an arc bevel gear), a core component of a mechanical transmission system.

一、structural characteristics:

The gear teeth are helical, which results in smoother meshing, lower noise, and stronger load-bearing capacity compared to straight bevel gears.The center hole has a keyway for connecting to shaft components and transmitting torque; the set screw holes on the side are used for fixing and preventing the gear from slipping on the shaft.The entire structure is a single piece, and the tooth surfaces are precision ground to ensure meshing accuracy.

二、core role:

Primarily used for power transmission between vertical or cross axes, it is widely applied in automotive differentials, machine tool spindles, industrial robot joints, and other applications, maintaining efficient power transmission while changing the direction of transmission.

三、Materials and craftsmanship:

Material: These gears are typically made of 20CrMnTi alloy carburized steel, with the surface treated by carburizing and quenching. The surface hardness can reach HRC58-62, while the core retains toughness, combining high wear resistance and impact resistance.

Machining process: It involves multiple processes such as forging, gear hobbing/milling, carburizing and quenching, and gear grinding. Among them, the gear grinding process is the key to ensuring high-precision meshing.
